NCC supports executive order on Medicare

In response to a request for feedback on scope of practice issues, the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Seema Verma to support Section 5 of President Trump’s Executive Order Protecting and Improving Medicare for Our Nation’s Seniors. The letter, signed by ҹɫÍõ³¯, praises the administration’s efforts to reduce barriers to care delivered by advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs), specifically citing the federal decision to authorize APRNs and physician assistants to provide medication-assisted opioid treatment. The coalition would like the administration to build on these efforts by removing physician-supervision requirements; authorizing APRNS to certify patient eligibility for home health services; and ending reimbursement disparities.
